Description

The Tea Room at The House of the Seven Gables offered patrons refreshment and a seat in the beautiful Seaside Gardens. These photographs highlight the shady seating under the Tea Room’s once-famous grape arbor located between the Retire Beckett and Hooper-Hathaway Houses.  Sally Ballou, a friend of Caroline Emmerton, was one of the first paid staff of the museum.  Here she’s pictured wearing the Tea Room uniform.
