Slides of Chandler Blueprints Post-Conservation, 1987

Date: 1987

Description

Conservation of archival collections is a constant – and expensive – concern to the museum. These slides are of Joseph Everett Chandler’s original blueprints of the restoration of the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion. In 1987, the blueprints were conserved and treated with a protective backing. These images were taken just after their treatment; note the protective backing through the tears in the blueprints.
