Museum Store

A Salem Legacy in Every Gift

Welcome to the Museum Store, where you will discover a large assortment of giftware that reflects the experience of visiting The House of the Seven Gables. Our curated collections are representative of our identity, our mission, and the heritage of the historic city of Salem, Massachusetts.

We offer the writings of Salem’s native son, Nathaniel Hawthorne, who made the house famous with his 1851 novel. There are special publications that outline our history over three centuries, as well as some that detail the mission of our founder, Miss Caroline Emmerton. Every book authored by Hawthorne on its title page is stamped with “Purchased at The House of the Seven Gables” and a facsimile of Hawthorne’s signature.

We also offer clothing with exclusive logos in both t-shirts and sweatshirts, caps, and tote bags that are not found elsewhere in the city of Salem. We present a large nautical theme in Summer, and as Fall arrives, we welcome you to our most festive season of the year, Halloween!

Our physical store is in the historic Retire-Beckett house on The Gables’ campus. The characteristics of 17th-century architecture, including heavy posts and beams, fireplaces, and low ceilings, can be seen in the store.

We also offer an online store where merchandise can be purchased and shipped to you, or to someone else as a special gift. We look forward to your visit.
