Field Trip: The Immigrant Experience in New York City
- This event has passed.
Date: June 22, 2019 @ 6:00 am - 11:00 pm
Cost: $99
Join our ESL and Citizenship students for a day in New York City learning about the American immigrant experience and celebrating the conclusion of the Becoming American community conversation series.
Upon arrival in the city, board a ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. At both sites, encounter the experiences of turn-of-the-century immigrants, the effects that they had on their families, and how those shaped their newly adopted homeland.
In the afternoon, the group will visit the 9-11 Memorial. This powerful Memorial pays tribute to those who died in the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Twin reflecting pools, each nearly an acre in size, feature the largest man-made waterfalls in North America and sit within the footprints of where the Twin Towers once stood.
Luxury transportation is provided on a WiFi-equipped Silver Fox motor coach. Stops for food and comfort will happen throughout the day.
