Description

The kitchen in the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion is depicted here shortly after the 1909-1910 restoration. The long, narrow bricks in the fireplace were uncovered during the restoration and possibly date to the 1650s. Although the bricks are original, the paneling along the walls was designed by the architect Joseph Chandler in 1910. This style of paneling is more typical of the Colonial Revival movement of the early 1900s than the actual colonial period in which the mansion was built.
