The House of the Seven Gables made headlines when it opened to the public as a formal museum. This article from 1910 tries to mitigate some of the public’s suspicions that the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion isn’t truly the house that Hawthorne depicted in his novel – fears that are, as we know now, only partially justified.
