Due to the forecasted storm, The House of the Seven Gables will open at 12 noon on Friday, March 6. If you purchased tickets for a morning tour on Friday, please check your voicemail or email for a message from us about rescheduling.

The City of Salem has issued a street parking ban effective 7 pm on Thursday, March 5 and ending at 6 am Friday morning. Salem residents are welcome to park in our lot overnight, but all vehicles must be moved from the lot by 9 am. Vehicles left past that time will be towed.

Grounds Pass

The Grounds Pass includes:

  • Access to a 30-minute audio tour for your own smartphone about the historic gardens and grounds. Also available in Spanish.
  • Exploration time in the Nathaniel Hawthorne Birthplace, Counting House/Kids’ Cove, and Museum Store.
  • A unique map of our historic site, garden guide, and activity booklets for children.

Please note: there is no interior access to the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion, a.k.a The House of the Seven Gables.

Pets not allowed: Only service animals are allowed to accompany visitors to The House of the Seven Gables. Emotional support, therapy, and comfort animals are not permitted.
