Sophia Peabody Hawthorne’s painting “Flight Into Egypt” has been restored and is returning to The House of the Seven Gables!
On Saturday December 2 at 4 p.m. there will be a reception with a short presentation about the conservation process and what was learned during it in the Seamans Visitor Center, followed by an unveiling of the restored work in the parlor of the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion. Period and season-appropriate refreshments will be served. It will be a festive kick-off to the holiday season! This event is free, but registration is required and donations are encouraged.*
*All donations will go towards The Gables’ Collections Fund. Suggested donation is $25.
