Renowned author and poet Julia Alvarez’s influential book, In the Time of the Butterflies, will be the topic of a bilingual book discussion at The House of the Seven Gables. Join the community, as the backdrop of life in the Dominican Republic during the Trujillo Era becomes the theme of dynamic discussion amongst writers, book lovers and anyone interested in this fascinating subject. This event is just one in a series exploring the work of Julia Alvarez throughout the month of September around the area, hosted by the Peabody Institute Library.
