The kitchen might be modern, but the recipes are colonial classics. Virtually join our staff in the cafe kitchen for a lesson about colonial foodways while you watch us prep and cook meals inspired by seventeenth-century recipes.
This year’s theme is colonial comfort food to drive the cold winter away. If you want to recreate any of these recipes, they have all been pulled from a cookbook on sale in our museum store.

The House of the Seven Gables has been a center of Salem’s community for over a century – sharing a rich history with visitors from around the globe and providing educational resources for people in Greater Salem. In 2022, our organization will explore what it means to build community via a series of special programs and events.
