This image of the Upton family crest was hand-drawn on heavy paper. An inscription on the back explains that the crest (or coat of arms) depicted was found on the carriage of the Earl of Upton, England. This copy belonged to direct descendants of John Upton (the first to immigrate to America from England) including Henry Orlando Upton of Salem Mass., Ebenezer Upton of North Reading Mass., and Elizabeth Upton Haywood of Salem Mass. (the great granddaughter of Henry O. Upton).
