Description
In 1865 Hawthorne’s publishers Ticknor and Fields contributed to Lieutenant General Ulysses S. Grant’s personal library with a 14 volume collection of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s writings. Each book in the collection was specially bound and included a bookplate detailing the gift from the people of Boston.
Our archives contain all 14 volumes of this one-of-a-kind series; this is Volume 1.
