Description

In 1974 the Cultural Arts Commission created a series of postcards with images of Salem between 1860 and 1930. The images, offered by the Essex Institute from their collection of rare photographs, depict Salem before the major construction projects of the early 1900s. They represent an ongoing interest in every aspect of Salem’s history, from the people to very streets they inhabited.
