A Naturalization Ceremony at The Gables

Every year The House of the Seven Gables hosts a naturalization ceremony as part of our support for the immigrant community. On Tuesday, September 27, we welcomed 42 new citizens as they took their oath in front of family and friends on our sunny seaside lawn.

The Honorable Robert B. Collings presided over the events, while keynote remarks were presented by The Gables’ Executive Director, Dakota Russell, immigration lawyer Diann Slavit Baylis, and long-time Gables’ citizenship teacher, Nestor Grullon. We were even lucky enough to hear the national anthem sung by Gables’ Historic Interpreter Rachel Stevens.

New citizens were given the opportunity to register to vote so that they can exercise one of their biggest and most empowering responsibilities as an American citizen. Congratulations to all the new citizens!
