We are in the middle of a heat wave here in Salem, and if you are looking to grab a cold drink to keep you going during your visit our staff has you covered. We’ve highlighted a few of our favorite places near The Gables to fuel up for the day.

“I have been a big fan of A&J King since they opened. They have the only vanilla latte I will drink (actually made with vanilla) and I had them cater cookies for my wedding instead of doing a cake! They’ve expanded to a second location on the Peabody line so now I’m flanked by them on either side of the city. Not good for my caffeine and sugar addictions!” – Zoë

“I recommend Lulu’s Bakery and Pantry for iced coffee. They just opened this spring and are quickly becoming a fixture in Salem.” – Richard

“There are many amazing coffee shops to visit in Salem but one of my favorites is Odd Meter where I enjoy trying all of their seasonal drinks. One of those is called Beauty and the Bing: a shaken caramel latte that tastes more like ice cream than it does coffee. I still recommend all of the coffees on their menu and really cannot choose amongst the many amazing coffee shops in Salem.” – Isabella

“One of my favorite spots to stop for coffee and a sweet treat in Salem is Coffee Time Bake Shop. Their coffee flavors of the week are awesome, and they do some really fantastic pastries, including bismarks and traditional polish paczki. My favorite iced coffee flavor so far was the seasonal Witches Brew in October.” – Holly

“I am a diehard hot coffee drinker and The Wolf Next Door is my spot. A large hot black and 3 sugars and I am good to go. Campy atmosphere and friendly staff make this my go-to spot.” – Deb

“Brew Box on Essex Street is a great choice for iced coffee as you explore all that downtown Salem has to offer. My go-to order is a cold brew black, but they have a great variety for all pallets.” – Suzanne

“Jaho Coffee and Tea is fantastic. I am a diehard iced tea girl, but they do so many fun season specials that it’s hard to choose a favorite!” – Hannah

There are many amazing places in town to grab an icy beverage and a sweet treat, and we are only scratching the surface in this post. Did we miss your favorite spot?
