We are so excited to announce the launch of our Virtual Tour experience for the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion!
During the past six weeks, staff at The House of the Seven Gables has been busy preserving our historic site, planning for some big operational changes, and finding ways to offer educational opportunities for our friends and fans in a digital setting. We’ve relived past lectures both on an about our site, shared some great content about at-home learning opportunities, and even threw a Zoom Birthday Party for our founder, Caroline Emmerton.
We’re looking towards the warmer months with a healthy dose of optimism and realism. At this point, we are being conservative in canceling in-person events because we have heard how much everyone wants to find a little respite in our gorgeous historic atmosphere. We know families who have been cooped up can’t wait to experience what is in their own backyard. We also know we need to consider all guidelines and regulations as we navigate this tricky world.
Much of what we do depends on support from visitation. The dollars that come into our site allow us to be a welcoming, thriving historic site. The “thrive” allows us to provide the many unique educational opportunities that we do. Even though you can’t come in person quite yet, we hope you’ll take our Virtual Tour and show some love for The House of the Seven Gables.
The Virtual Tour is about a 15-minute experience that takes visitors on a narrated journey through six rooms of the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion. We’ve selected some of our favorite modern images along with unique archival images to highlight the long and complex history of our site. Our members received a special premiere of the tour in their inboxes on Tuesday – and you can now purchase your chance to experience The Gables from the safety of home RIGHT HERE!
We have options available for every budget. You can join us as a member and receive unlimited access to the tour as well as all of our in-person activities when we reopen. You can buy a $10 pass that includes unlimited access and a $10 voucher for when you can visit us. Finally, there is a pay-what-you-will – you can offer us $7 or $700 and it will all go towards our mission and upkeep during this difficult time.
We look forward to finding more ways to get creative and keep you educated and entertained. Thanks to everyone for their support of The Gables!
