It might be spring in Massachusetts, but there isn’t too much spring in our step. Schools are officially closed for the 2020 school year. Our historic site is in bloom, but we can’t let visitors see the beauty of our site. Our staff is working hard to bring you engaging online programming and the preservation of our gardens and buildings, but the fact is, WE MISS YOU!
In the attempt to make the best of this ever-changing situation, we’re going to start to bring you a virtual tour this week. The tour will be posted on our social media channels and you can experience some of your favorite space at The Gables. Be sure to also follow us for “what’s in bloom” at the site as well as weekly go-live events featuring unique histories and stories.
If you have a history-loving mama bear in your life, might we suggest a gift membership? Not only will you support all of our hard work while we don’t have visitor support, but you’ll also share a true piece of Americana. We’re offering a number of digital members-only programs and events, a monthly online newsletter, and more. You can click here to order that gift and we can ship to you or your loved one (please order by May 4 to ensure holiday delivery)!
We had a fun week last week. A big thank you to Irene Axelrod and Creative North Shore for making Miss Emmerton’s first-ever Zoom birthday a true party! We’re also excited to share the entries from the Family Art Contest with our friends at the Salem Art Association.
Stay healthy and well, everyone!
