We’re in no rush for this awesome year to end, but our staff is going to be hard at work transitioning our historic homes into holiday treasures. Over the next few days, we’ll be decking the halls in preparation for our Four Centuries of Christmas tours. Visitors will be treated to a unqiue guided tour with splashes of information related to how New Englanders have celebrated the December holidays. From a Victorian-era tree to simple greens, you don’t want to miss this chance to see our site sparkle!
On Saturday, our Museum Store will be a part of Salem’s Small Business Saturday events. You’re invited to sip wassail and cross the good ones off of your list. You can’t beat the experience of shopping in a c.1655 house! Remember, you don’t need to tour to visit the store.ar
Our final lecture of the year is happening on Sunday. Limited space is available to learn about the Classic Illustrated series with Jack Butterworth. The finale for our POP! Goes The Gables events will feature an informative talk and a look at Mr. Butterworth’s unique collection of Classics Illustrated art.
We also wanted to send a thank you to everyone who dropped off non-perishable good for the It Starts With Me Thanksgiving Drive. Volunteers with that organization are now working hard to pack up hundreds of complete Thanksgiving dinners for families all over the North Shore. We commend their efforts!
