John J. Miller is joined by Kelly Scott Franklin of Hillsdale College to discuss Nathaniel Hawthorne’s The House of the Seven Gables. John J. Miller is an author, national correspondent for the National Review, and director of the Dow Journalism Program at Hillsdale College in Michigan. Kelly Scott Franklin is a professor at Hillsdale College with a lifelong love of American literature. This is a great overview of Hawthorne’s potential inspirations for the novel.
