It’s feeling like spring here at The Gables – even though it’s only 40 degrees. We’ve ‘sprung forward,’ the snow is melting, and we’re welcoming more and more of our wonderful visitors every day!
On March 17, we’ll be offering our Welcome Home Day to residents of Cape Ann. If you live in Rockport, Essex, Gloucester, or Manchester-by-the-Sea, just bring along proof of residency and we’ll take you on a guided tour through our 350-year-old historic house museum. Learn about maritime life, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and more!
There is still plenty of time to register for Salem Women’s History Day on March 24. We’ll be offering two tours (12:30 and 3:30) focused on the history of women at our site and a special lecture with Dina Vargo. Vargo recently released “The Hidden History of Boston.” In her lecture, she’ll focus on a few unique figures including Amelia Earnhardt and Katherine Switzer and how these powerful women changed history.
