The House of the Seven Gables has always been very special to me and is connected to so many things which I love in this world: Salem, Hawthorne, The House itself, Vincent Price, and more. My animated adaption of Hawthorne’s tale has been a love letter to these things.
I first attempted to make the film during high school in 2013 but was unable to finish. When it came time to choose what I would make as a thesis film, I returned to the project, started over from scratch, and fell in love all over again. An homage to Roger Corman’s Edgar Allen Poe films of the 1960s, starring Vincent Price, I was fortunate to have the legendary David Frankham as the star of the film. David is 92 years old and has appeared in several Vincent Price films, such as Tales of Terror, Return of the Fly, and Master of the World, as well as the original Star Trek and 101 Dalmatians, to name but a few. David, along with composer/actor Jonathan David Dixon, will be my guests of honor on October 16, when The House of the Seven Gables comes home…to the House of the Seven Gables!
