Due to the forecasted storm, The House of the Seven Gables will open at 12 noon on Friday, March 6. If you purchased tickets for a morning tour on Friday, please check your voicemail or email for a message from us about rescheduling.

The City of Salem has issued a street parking ban effective 7 pm on Thursday, March 5 and ending at 6 am Friday morning. Salem residents are welcome to park in our lot overnight, but all vehicles must be moved from the lot by 9 am. Vehicles left past that time will be towed.

Join local historians and friends at the Salem Common Gazebo for a reading of the Declaration of Independence at 9:00 a.m.

Salem Willows Horribles Parade

Not for the faint of heart, the Salem Willows Horribles Parade kicks off around this seaside neighborhood at 10:00 a.m.

Celebrate Independence Day with live music and family programming at Salem Maritime National Historic Site and a fireworks extravaganza!

Festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. with a musical act performing on the main stage.  Opening ceremonies begin at 7:15 p.m, and are followed by a two-hour ‘POPS’ concert by the Hillyer Festival Orchestra, a forty-piece ensemble with vocal soloists performing opera to Broadway favorites.  At 9:15 p.m. a magnificent fireworks display is launched from Derby Wharf accompanied by live music from the orchestra.
