Our 350th anniversary year is getting a little bit sweeter on February 10. The House of the Seven Gables will be participating in Salem’s So Sweet weekend and we hope you’ll join us for some great events.
Stop by and see our joint ice sculpture in partnership with Ye Olde Pepper Candy Companie which will be installed in the morning and lit up for an evening stroll around 5:00 p.m.
Want to make your evening sweeter? Get tickets to our special event, Dearest Dove: The Love Letters of Nathaniel and Sophia Hawthorne. Kick off the event with chocolate and wine and then settle in with Dana Hersey of North Shore 104.9, Karen Nascembeni from the North Shore Music Theatre, and local playwright Anne Lucas for a reading of some very special letters.
During the day, free grounds passes will be available. Visitors can enjoy a wintry view of Salem Harbor or get their history fix with our unique audio tour. Need a last minute gift for your Valentine? Pop into our Museum Store for a selection of books and gift ware.
From 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. it’s all about families. Decorate a cookie in our visitor center and register to make a Valentine craft with Salem Park, Recreation, and Community Services.
February 10 is going to be a sweet day to celebrate! Join us and be part of 350 years of stories.
