Accounting Room Reopens TODAY!

July 10, 2017 Published By Julie Arrison-Bishop

Be a part of our newest story!

The Accounting Room has been closed to visitors since January 2016. We are delighted to announce that it will be coming back onto guided tours TODAY! The room has been restored to an earlier configuration and is more expansive. New furnishings and objects from The Gables’ collection will be on display. These objects compliment the reproduction wallpaper that was installed last month.

In the Accounting Room, visitors will continue to learn about the Turner and Ingersoll family business as well as the intriguing connection to Hawthorne’s famed novel, The House of the Seven Gables. After checking out the restored Accounting Room, our visitors are in for another treat over the coming weeks–sampling tours in the Dining Room Chamber. Construction is complete. Our staff and researchers are deciding what story we should tell and how we should tell it. When you tour with us, we want to know!
