With the best view of the fireworks in town\, The Gables is the ideal spot for July 4th. Bring a picnic\, blanket and chairs\, and relax on the seaside lawn. There will be lawn games\, music\, and the traditional cutting of Nathaniel Hawthorne’s birthday cake. Nathaniel Hawthorne will be there in-person– and you may have a chance to win a prize if you can answer his American history trivia game! \nThis event is free to all Gables members. Due to inclement weather\, this tour has been moved to Sunday\, July 30 from 10AM to 12PM \nClimate change impacts us all\, but in different ways and with a variety of outcomes. This year’s Community Conversations series will focus on some of these impacts\, existing and proposed efforts to mitigate the negative changes\, and what we can do as individuals to address climate change in our communities. \n  \nJoin The Gables and explore Salem’s industrial heritage along a changing shoreline with Barbara Warren\, Executive Director of Salem Sound Coastwatch\, and Vijay Joyce\, Founder of Rekindled History.
