DESCRIPTION:Join us for a profound lecture exploring the Ukrainian Executed Renaissance movement\, a significant cultural and artistic phenomenon of the 1920s and 1930s\, characterized by its vibrant literary and artistic expression. This session will delve into the lives and works of key writers and poets who contributed to this rich period\, only to face tragic fates due to political repression. \nWe will focus on notable writers and poets\, such as Mykola Khvylovy\, Vasyl Stus\, and others\, whose works captured the spirit of hope and creativity despite the looming threats of repression. \nThis lecture aims to shed light on a pivotal yet often overlooked chapter of Ukrainian history\, highlighting the resilience of artists and their enduring legacy in the face of adversity. \n  \nAll funds go to Dobro New England to support humanitarian aid to Ukraine. \n  \n> Click here to register <\n  \nAbout the Presenter \nOleksandra Kovalchuk is the Deputy Director of the Odesa National Fine Arts Museum in Ukraine and the founder of the NGO Museum for Change\, which provides support for the protection of museum collections across Ukrainian institutions. Since the beginning of the invasion of Ukraine\, she has been residing in Salem. \nOver the past few years\, actively engaged in promoting Ukrainian culture at various institutions\, including Boston University\, NJ University\, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts\, the Peabody Essex Museum\, the Ogunquit Museum of American Art\,\, Heritage Museums and Gardens and The House of Seven Gables
