Description
This is one of the earliest surviving guestbooks from the first days of the museum. In 1911, visitors would enter the house through the Cent Shop via Turner Street. After buying their ticket and signing into a guest book like this one, they would be led into the kitchen of the house.
The establishment of the house as a museum generated world-wide interest. In this guest book, we can see people visiting from Hawaii to England. We can also see the beginning of a long tradition of school groups visiting the museum – in this case a group of Wellesley College.
