Description
The fame of Hawthorne’s novel persisted well into the 20th century when it was converted into the new medium of film. While the first film adaptation of The House of the Seven Gables premeired in 1910, this 1930 film is special in that it’s world premier was held in Salem – in attendance, of course, was Caroline Emmerton.
