Settlement Staff Spotlight
Meet Kate Dulmage
Kate Dulmage recently re-joined the team here at The Gables as the new Settlement and Education Programs Manager. Kate has been part of the team here previously, having volunteered at the Hawthorne Birthplace. She also worked part time at the Museum Store before teaching ESL and Citizenship classes from 2017-2020.
“Professionally, I am very proud about my choice to become an ESL teacher,” Kate says. “I have a Master’s in Spanish and am certified to teach. I taught English in Germany for eight years and for over four years in the US. I speak four languages and have a Bachelor’s in World Languages.” Kate’s strong background in ESL makes her especially well suited to manage our education programming. When asked what aspect of her job she is most looking forward to, she says, “I’m really looking forward to expanding the ESL and Citizenship program to reach deeper into our local immigrant community.”
When not hard at work Kate enjoys delving into her hobbies, which include singing, painting and reading.Tags: immigrant, immigration, Salem, settlement house, support education, support immigration
