Did you know that The House of the Seven Gables maintains two Little Free Libraries in Salem? Little Free Libraries play an important role in building community, inspiring readers, and providing access to books 24/7.
Our Little Free Libraries were inspired by the Turner-Ingersoll Mansion, right down to their batten doors. One library is located at 115 Derby Street, next to the Salem Trolley Stop. The other is located in Mary Jane Lee Park on the corner of Palmer and Prince Street in Salem.
Both libraries are always in need of great reads, and either bilingual English/Spanish or Spanish books are a plus. Children’s books for all ages are welcomed and families love having easy access to reading materials. Reading is a wonderful way to help English-language-learners build literacy skills!
Feel free to drop off some books or take some books anytime!
