Due to the forecasted storm, The House of the Seven Gables will open at 12 noon on Friday, March 6. If you purchased tickets for a morning tour on Friday, please check your voicemail or email for a message from us about rescheduling.

The City of Salem has issued a street parking ban effective 7 pm on Thursday, March 5 and ending at 6 am Friday morning. Salem residents are welcome to park in our lot overnight, but all vehicles must be moved from the lot by 9 am. Vehicles left past that time will be towed.

January 2021 Settlement Programs Update

What’s New in Settlement?

The Gables is conducting bilingual student surveys and putting final details in place for this year’s adult ESL and citizenship classes. It was a challenge to host classes in 2020 and we missed interacting with our students. If you know a potential student for our program, please feel free to forward this survey or share their contact information with us.

Besides education, one of the biggest needs for the immigrant community is food security. Staff member Bruce Campbell is a volunteer with My Brother’s Table in Lynn. A small group of volunteers meets monthly at The Gables to pack meal kits for those in need. We strongly encourage you to reach out to your local food pantry or food donation program and see how you can help make a difference in your community.

While we are closed to the public, The House of the Seven Gables is also happy to offer our multi-purpose space to organizations making a difference in the community. For more information, please contact our Functions Manager, Deb Costa.
