Due to the forecasted storm, The House of the Seven Gables will open at 12 noon on Friday, March 6. If you purchased tickets for a morning tour on Friday, please check your voicemail or email for a message from us about rescheduling.

The City of Salem has issued a street parking ban effective 7 pm on Thursday, March 5 and ending at 6 am Friday morning. Salem residents are welcome to park in our lot overnight, but all vehicles must be moved from the lot by 9 am. Vehicles left past that time will be towed.

Building Salem: Derby Street Construction Project

Access to our parking lot on Derby Street may be limited over the next few weeks as the city begin construction work on Phase One of the Derby Street Improvement Plan. This project will help to create more accessible sidewalks and pathways for residents and visitors alike. We are excited for the finished product, but realize the inconvenience.

For local parking, we would suggest the following:

South Harbor Garage (7-minute walk; 0.4 miles)
Salem Ferry Landing (5-minute walk; 0.2 miles)

There are meter spots at the upper end of Derby Street near the Salem Maritime National Historic Site and Pickering Wharf. Please do not park in resident-only parking! Our residents have extremely limited space with this project!
