Do you miss us? We certainly miss you! That’s why we wanted to give you a heads-up about some great plans to reconnect at The House of the Seven Gables this year!
The inaugural Salem Ancestry Days will be held May 1-4. A number of activities are being planned around the community encouraging people to research their roots in Salem. At The Gables, we’re looking forward to welcoming any of our “family members” to come back to their ancestral home for a tour and visit. Whether you’re a Turner, Upton, or Emmerton we’d love to see you! Ingersolls and Hawthornes, come on down! We’ll ask that you fill out a short form so that we can stay in touch with you and then whisk you away on our refreshed tour experience.
Our October Peformances have been led by Anne Lucas for two decades. That means we have a scattering of Judge Jaffreys, Anne Putnams, and Hepzibahs to welcome back! We’ll have a special reunion event for you during dress rehearsal night on October 8. Stay tuned for details.
It’s been an exciting start to 2020 at The Gables, complete with a refreshed tour experience. We know many of you have been through our interpretive ranks! Mark December 4 down for a night of friends, fun, and memories!
We’re also in the process of planning a reunion for our settlement house attendees over the years. Whether you attended dances at Turner Hall, were a part of our preschool programs, or just became a citizen, we’ll be in touch!
At each of these events, our staff would love to collect any stories and images you want to share. We’ll have some oral history recording stations set up and scanners for pictures.
You are all a part of our history and story and we can’t wait to reconnect in 2020!
