Did you know that The House of the Seven Gables has a unique dual mission? Not only do we preserve our National Historic Landmark District but we also offer educational opportunities to newly arriving immigrant families to the region. Our founder, Caroline Emmerton, opened the house for tours in 1910 and used proceeds from visitors to fund her neighborhood settlement house. We’re proud to carry on this legacy today.
The House of the Seven Gables is offering Adult ESL & Citizenship classes at Salem Academy Charter School, located at 45 Congress Street in Salem. Classes run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm – 8:00pm, starting on September 11. Childcare is provided for students.
